Appeal for County-Match Players

Steve Westmoreland has sent out to various people, around Yorkshire, the following e-mail.  Anyone interested in playing in Yorkshire County teams should respond accordingly.

Dear Club Secretaries and Organisers,

Players required for Yorkshire County teams!

The County season is upon us once more.  As per previous seasons, Yorkshire are entering teams in the u1450s, u1650s, u1850s, u2050s and Open.  A top two finish is needed to get into the national stages.

We are now looking to raise teams for the season, with the first match expected to be in November.  We are competing against Greater Manchester, Northumberland, Cumbria, Merseyside, Cleveland and hopefully Lancashire.  Our first set of matches are likely to be against Manchester.

Could you please pass this email on to your player base and anyone who wants to play for the County.  Contact info@yorkshirechess.com if you want to be included.

Anyone who wants to play in the under 1650s, contact Rob direct as well at rob.oldfield@outlook.com

Please note it is your rating as of the start of September.  For example, if on the 1st September your rating was 1449, then you can play the u1450s and above.  If 1451 then it would be the u1650s and above.

·                  U1450s Captain: Andy Wainwright.

·                  U1650s Captain: Rob Oldfield.

·                  U1850s Captain: Rupert Jones.

·                  U2050s Captain: Andy Wainwright.

·                  Open Captain: Randy Donahue.

The county chess experience is fantastic.  I look forward to meeting you during the coming season.

Kind regards,

Steve Westmoreland
