03/03/2022 New Rotherham Online Tournament
Despite a return to over-the-board chess, organisers of the award-winning Rotherham website have decided to continue to meet the online demand with a new tournament starting next week.
The Spring Cup is open to anyone at home or abroad and will be played over six rounds (one per week) with a time limit of 25 minutes, plus a 15 seconds per move increment.
Each round lasts one week with players able to arrange their games at a time and date to suit themselves and their opponents.
Byes are available on request and the first round will start on Wednesday, March 9th.
Games are played on the Lichess platform with the Rotherham Online website making it easy to challenge and communicate with opponents.
Entries will be accepted up to midnight on March 8th or, in special circumstances, early the following morning at the discretion of the organisers.
