11/10/2021 3rd Mini Standardplay U-1800 Event Jonathan Arnott is organising a 3rd U-1800 event to be held on 22nd & 23rd October at Southern Light Community Church, Tannery Street, Woodhouse, S13 7LA. Entries can be made on line here: https://form.jotform.com/212697225000346 What follows is taken from that entry form: PLAYING SCHEDULE - One game Friday night on October 22nd, 4 games on Saturday October 23rd. Players may request a half-point bye in advance if they do not wish to play on the Friday or want a break on a Saturday round. Not possible in the final round. Entry numbers strictly limited. Why this event? A number of players couldn't make the last event (summer holidays). Some players would like a warm-up competition before entering a major event the week after! Venue: Southern Light Community Church, Tannery Street, Woodhouse, S13 7LA. Entry fee: £20 (adult), £15 (junior), payable in advance. Due to current restrictions we do not anticipate that entries on the day will be permitted. ECF membership: You must either: a) Have bronze ECF membership or above, or b) Pay the ECF's 'pay to play' competition fee (currently £9 adults, £2.50 juniors). Time limit: All moves in 45 minutes plus a 15-second increment from move 1. Players should record their games. Playing schedule: Round 1 - Friday, 7.30pm Round 2 - Saturday, 9.45am Round 3 - Saturday, 11.45am (or as soon as possible after) Lunch break (food and non-alcoholic drinks available to purchase). We plan a 'meal deal' - hot meal, drink, snack, for £5. We expect to have a bookstall and some informal coaching may be available free of charge. Round 4 - Saturday, 2.30pm Short break Round 5 - Saturday, 4.30pm Prizes awarded as soon as possible after final round; cash prizes will be paid either in cash or by bank transfer within 48 hours of the event ending.
