08/08/2021 Entries Invited for the 5th Kelham Island Events, on 22/08/2021 The football is long gone, the tennis has finished, and the Olympics are just over, but there is still outdoor OTB chess at Kelham. Geoff Brown is now organising the 5th set of Kelham Island mini-tournaments, and now INVITES ENTRIES.  That means you! The format is groups of ideally 6 players or perhaps the odd 4-player grop (according to number of entrants), each player in a group playing each other (hence 5 or 3 rounds), with each player having 15 minutes on the clock, with a 5-second increment per move played.  Each group plays at a different venue within the general Kelham Island area. Geoff Brown is now taking entries – as soon as possible, please, to facilitate planning, booking the requisite number of playing locations, and so on.  His e-mail reads: Hi everyone The fifth episode of my series of events at Kelham Island will take place in two weeks' time, on Sunday 22nd August and I am now taking entries.  Can you let me know whether you want to take part?  An early response, one way or another, would help me in organising the venues.
