Online Spring Cup Results
Doncaster players
filled the top two places in the latest tournament played at the rate of 25
minutes, plus a 15 seconds per move increment.
Sean McDonald, the
former Doncaster IM Brown top-board player, won in convincing style with
five and a half points in the six-round competition.
McDonald's IM Brown
captain Peter Catt came second with five points after the pair had drawn in
the last round.
Three players were
level on four and a half points with Deji Jeje, who plays for SASCA in the
Sheffield League, finishing third on tie-break ahead of Barnsley's Martin
Sheard and Chris Shephard (Sheffield Nomads).
Thirty players took
part in the competition which has led to the organisers continuing the
tournaments for the time being to meet the demand.
McDonald did not
have to play top seed Chris Shephard who slipped up earlier in the
competition but out-prepped fourth-placed Martin Sheard in the opening to
win a key game in round four;
