Please take this
email as notice of the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Sheffield & District
Chess Association. It will be held on Tuesday, 8th September,
starting at 7.30 pm, at The Trades & Labour Club, 200 Duke Street,
Sheffield S2 5QQ. The agenda and minutes from last year were attached
to the email I sent a few minutes ago. If you haven't received them
then let me know and I'll send you them again.
Remarkably, there
are only two rule change proposals this year. I've received nothing
else. It could be a short meeting for a change.
I'd like to remind any
clubs that are holding Association trophies that they should be returned to
me at the AGM so that I can arrange to have them engraved before presenting
to the 2025-26 winners at the Fixture Meeting (which will also be at the
Trades & Labour Club on Tuesday 22nd September).
I've taken the
opportunity of attaching a blank Club Information Sheet. Can club
secretaries ensure that these are returned as soon as possible please, but
no later than 31st August 2026. Copies of the form should also be
sent to the President Andrew Hards, Treasurer Pete Micklethwaite and
Webmaster Steve Mann. Note that the first league fixtures this year
are likely to be in the week commencing Monday 28th September.
