I am
again captaining two Yorkshire County teams which initially participate in
the Northern Counties Chess Union competitions and, hopefully, in the
knockout matches organised by the English Chess Federation.
The
under 1450 grade team will face Lancashire and the under 1650 grade team
will face Lancashire and Cumbria. Likely venues for the matches (but still
to be confirmed) are as follows:-
Under
1450 grade match, Yorkshire v Lancashire. Holmfirth.
Under
1650 grade match, Yorkshire v Cumbria. Barnard Castle.
Under
1650 grade match, Lancashire v Yorkshire. Bury.
These
fixtures should be completed on weekends before the end of March 2022 and
may involve Sunday play.
In view
of the time that has elapsed since these fixtures were last contested,
I am
requesting details of players who are interested in being considered for
selection.
Even if
they are already known to me, they should notify me again to update the
information that I hold. The relevant E.C.F. grade is that quoted at August
2021. For those interested, I require the following information:-
Full
name.
Age.
Address.
Telephone
number (home).
Telephone
number (work).
Telephone
number (mobile).
e-mail
address (personal).
e-mail
address (work).
E.C.F.
grade at August 2021 (I’ll check this myself against that quoted by the
player to avoid any disputes.)
E.C.F.
grade reference number.
Does
the player have transport and is that person willing to offer lifts to
others?
If the
player has transport and is willing to offer lifts to others, how many
passengers can he/she take?
If the
player does not have transport, I will try to put him/her in touch with a
driver.
Please
note that a board fee may be payable to cover the cost of renting the venue
and/or refreshments.
Passengers
to arrange with drivers a contribution towards the cost of fuel.
Parents
may be willing or choose to provide transport for their own children and
possibly others.
Those
interested in selection should contact me urgently via e-mail or telephone.
Best
wishes,
David
G. Mills
