Next Rotherham Online Tournaments

Entries invited

Rotherham Online is to start 2022 with a special Winter Rapidplay tournament open to anyone, at home or abroad.

The website won the ECF award for Online Chess contribution of the year in 2021 and is set to continue with innovative competitions for players of all abilities this year.

Starting next Wednesday, January 12th, the free-to-enter Winter Rapid will be played over six rounds (one per week) with a time limit of 15 minutes, plus a 10-second increment per move.

Games are played on the Lichess website with players able to organise matches at a time and date to suit themselves each week.

In the past, Rotherham Online has had players competing against each other from all over Yorkshire and other parts of the country, as well as overseas territories such as India and Malaysia.

Entries for the Winter Rapid will be accepted up to midnight on January 11th or, in special circumstances, early the following morning only at the discretion of the organisers.

Again it will be open to all comers and free to enter.
